A Victorian three dimensional carved cameo shell brooch set in a ornamental Greek Revivial style 14k yellow gold frame depicting a Bacchante.

The back is inscribed "Elise 1865 Lorenzo Jon"

Dimensions: 2.25" x 2"

Bacchantes, known as Maenads in Greek mythology, were the female followers of Bacchus (or the Roman Dionysus), the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness, fertility, theatre and religious ecstasy. They are usually represented as worked into a state of ecstatic frenzy through a combination of dancing and intoxication. The grapes & grape leaves in their hair reference wine and the god of wine.

Shipping Information

US domestic shipping

We ship all products through the
USPS via Priority Mail. Once an order is placed, it will leave our
facility within 7 business days, unless there is custom work being done,
or we have stated otherwise. We insure all packages.

International shipping

We do ship internationally
through USPS and DHL. The cost varies on which service you choose and
where we are shipping to. IMPORTANT: Many countries charge an import
duty or customs fees. Any duties imposed by countries for importing our
items are the buyer’s responsibility.

Returns & Refunds

We continuously strive to offer
our customers the highest quality jewelry and customer service. We stand
behind the authenticity and quality of each item we sell; however, if
you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, you may return it
within 10 days to receive a credit equal to the purchase price.

1. Contact must be initiated within 10 days of receiving the item.
2. We appreciate original invoices and any paperwork be included with the return.

3. Merchandise needs to be unused (gentle wear is OK) and in the same
condition as it was received. Rings resized (or items altered) are not
eligible for full refunds.
4. You will be issued a 100% credit of the purchase price immediately upon receipt of the return.
5. International Returns: Credits
will be 100% of the purchase price only. Any customs or import duties,
brokerage fees, or taxes paid on shipments and the cost to send back the
return would be the purchaser’s responsibility. Refunds on taxes and
duties on returns may be available from your country's customs
department. Insurance is recommended as we are not responsible for items
lost or damaged in transit for returns sent from outside the USA. On
export forms please clearly state that it is a return to reduce the
chances of items being held up in customs.

Please note:
Complimentary returns are expensive for our company but we feel it is
important to offer our customers the opportunity to try our pieces risk
free. Abuse of our return policy to “borrow” jewelry hurts our family
business and may result in In The Loupe Jewelry refusing to continue to
do business with customers we feel are abusing this generosity.

Instructions

To initiate a return, simply
email us at info@intheloupejewelry.com to request an insured prepaid
label. Whenever possible, we recommend sending the jewelry back in our
original packaging as it is designed to protect the jewelry in transit
and be discreet.
